The Hows and Whys of Internet Operations and Policy Making:
Envisioning Canadian Participation

Hosted by the Internet Corporation for assigned Names and Numbers At-Large Advisory Committee, this one day workshop will provide a user friendly forum on the what, why and hows of Internet policy making.
The global Internet now has more than one billion users worldwide.
More than 21 million Canadians, 67.9% of the population, regularly connect to this network of networks.
As the number of users increases, civil society, consumer associations, businesses, and academics are all becoming more aware of the critical infrastructure and processes that keep the Internet running smoothly.
The Internet is unique in that the policies that govern its core structures are decided in a bottom up, community driven fashion, in keeping with the spirit with which the network was originally built.
Groups and individuals from all walks of life are encouraged to participate in the development of global internet policy.
This means that there is an important opportunity for Canadian voices to be heard in the process. The workshop is open to all, for further information and/or to confirm participation contact:
