Burning Man Cars: DEPARTMENT OF MUTANT VEHICLES
The Black Cat Gallery, in Culver City, presents
“BLACK CAT FESTIVAL 1!” a multi-creative outburst.
Opening night for “BLACK CAT FESTIVAL 1!” is Sat. June 3, 2006
from 7pm-12 Midnight and will feature the Artists’
Reception, Live Fashion show, Stationary-Fashion
Modeling, Live Music and DJ mixing, Live Action
Painting, Indie Film & Video, Performance Art,
Architecture, Burning Man Cars, of the violently
original. There will be Painting/Mixed Media
Artwork by Attila Adorjany, Angie Mason, Abril Andrade,
Terrell Moore, Timothy Williams, Eric Fobair,
Kevin Rolly, Herwig Maurer, Christopher Moonlight, Aaron
Murphy, James Mathers, Ezter Takas, Gabriel

Spitaletto, Bill Schaeffer, Michael Casey, Eric

Industrial-easy-street wear from 600-POUND GORRILA

There will also be live stationary fashion models

J-Low, Gwen Staffani, Dave Navarro, LA Laker Smush
Parker, P Diddy, Ayu Hamaski, etc. will be airbrushing
fashion models throughout the evening. For the first time
in NBA history, an NBA player, (Smush Parker), is
wearing custom painted shoes by J. JMartin can paint on
anything under the sun and make it electric. See

THE DAGONS will be performing their
dreamy-spooky-folk-punk-rock at 10:30pm. The
critically acclaimed psyhcedelic-gothic-garge
power duo are currently touring to support their new
record, “REVERSE” on Blow the Fuse Records and will invite
us into their world at Black Cat Festival 1! @
10:30pm.

DJ/MC Legends AURELITO & SHAKESPEARE (Chocolate
Bar, Inisound) will be spinning and shouting out from
their ice cream truck now converted to reggae-mobile
sound machine at the Black Cat Festival 1! Chocolate
Bar is the longest running and most successful
Reggae/Soul/Hip-Hop club in LA. . Inisound has
DJ’d and promoted record release parties for PERRY
FARRELL, MACY GRAY to name a few and had their own Oasis
tent at Coachella. Aurelito and Shakespeare’s reggae
machine and clubs have been featured on NPR Radio
and in countless newspapers and magazines: Los Angeles
Times, LA Weekly, URB, Giant Robot, etc. Get inspired & uplifted @

DJ XIAN (Malediction Society, Wumpskate, Darkroom,
Black Cat Gallery) is the undisputed Darkwave,
Ethereal-Gothic, Industrial DJ and club-throwing
Queen. With her three visionary clubs in full
swing and at a mere 26 of age this is a social architect
to keep your eye on and ear open to. Xian and DJ
OIZYS (Black Cat Gallery, Endgameradio.com and Xian’s
significant other) will be spinning their best
eclectic-darkwave music throughout the evening.

THE DEPARTMENT OF MUTANT VEHICLES, 7-10 cars long,
and led by TOMAS VERDE will be in top creative-custom
shape. Inspired and featured at Burning Man
Festival, these highly detailed and fully functional cars
range from the Cheshire Cat to Eclectric Octopus in

The contemporary architecture of ERIC ROSEN and
his open studio will be featured next door to the
Black Cat Gallery.
Complimentary cocktails by ALIZE’, Indian Food by
BHARAT BAZAR and coffee and chai tea from RUMOR
MILL will be served on the outdoor smoking patio.
