Young celebrities (Musicians,top radio/TV presenters, soccer stars) together with youth Aids activists from youth led organisations will hold an infortainment day long event at Malawi's biggest youth Center. All activities will center on voluntary Counselling and Blood Testing (VCT).
At the venue, as musicians will be performing live and addressing young people, other youth volunteers will be providing VCT service at the mobile centeres that will be elected.
Pavilions showcasing what youth organisations are doing will be displayed at the venue. It is exepected that more than 15 thousaund young people will attend and that hundreds will access VCT and know their status at the end of the event.
More than 25 thousand young people at two events only have been exposed to HIV/Aids message since the launch of the initiative in August 2005. The National Youth Council of Malawi and National Aids commission are providing technical and financial support. |
