DetailsAbout
Name of the Open Forum: Muntu Ceremony as the Solution for Poverty Cases in Padang Pariaman People of Indonesia

Specific issues that the Open Forum will focus on:
This program would try to look at how Padang youth see their culture because the Padang community is a Minangkabau culture that is based on the mother not the father. This project wants to research how Padang youth develop the "muntu" event every year as a sacral ceremony.

Rationale for holding this Open Forum:
It will inform how is the Minangkabau culture is run and how it is the youth of Padang who see their culture. This project will talk about about the "muntu" ceremony for solving the poverty cases in Padang Pariaman.

Goals the organizer hopes to achieve by holding
this Open Forum for youth in the community:

First, the Padang people will know that their traditional art is a unique one in the world.
Second, for the youth, they will know how to be theirself (identity) without seeing themself as another culture.

Language in which the Open Forum will be held: English
