For almost 60 years, CIEE has gathered people together to explore the methods and challenges of bringing language and culture to students, so please join us for the 2006 CIEE Conference on International Educational Exchange. Meet CIEE, international education leaders, and colleagues in Seville, Spain to discuss ways to maximize student learning outcomes.
How can we develop programs that encourage students to make the most of their international education experiences? In what ways can partnerships between U.S. and overseas organizations promote learning? How can we evaluate—and heighten—the impact the local environment has on students’ education?
We’ve based this year’s dialogue in Seville, a city where people have long made the most of their proximity to one another to develop a mosaic of distinct cultures that have enriched Andalusia’s art, architecture, and traditions. In the hands of these people of different heritages—Christian, Jewish, and Muslim—decorative arts like ceramic tiles have taken many shapes and taken on many subjects; composed into a mosaic, the tiles well represent the way those cultures have come together to become one: Sevilliano.
