The Youth in Local Government Conference 2006 is being hosted by the New Plymouth District Council. The conference will be held at the Quality Hotel Plymouth International from Monday 25 to Tuesday 26 September 2006.
As an elected member, council officer, youth council or organisation funded by a territorial local authority, you are invited to register and participate. The aim of this year’s conference is to provide delegates with the opportunity to learn and network amongst those working for and with young people. More specifically we hope to:
1. Increase awareness of positive youth development and the protective factors that build resiliency amongst young people.
2. Increase awareness and positive engagement with young people in order to increase realisation of young people’s potential.
3. Encourage best practise and behaviour of delegates when engaging with young people.
4. Profile the best youth projects throughout New Zealand at the Youth in Local Government Awards
The conference will incorporate keynote presentations and workshops. |
