DetailsAbout
Qin Feng’s (Landscape of Civilization series)
Opening Reception (September 17th, 2006 @ 08:00 pm)

Qin Feng’s Landscape of Civilization series (2003-2008) consists of one hundred ink books (“album leaves”), which portray the development of civilizations through the art of calligraphy.

Qin’s work is grounded in pre-historic references to Mayan, Babylon, Asian, and modern civilizations, and he also invents his own pre-historic and futuristic civilizations.

Despite this tendency to reach back into the past, the Chinese artist also works with contemporary mediums such as multi-media presentation (e.g., recording, sound and performance).
