The purpose of the I Can, I Will…Step Up, Stop the Violence March is to engage the community in the School District of Philadelphia's efforts to address violence and raise money for the Crisis Fund.

The School District of Philadelphia’s Crisis Fund provides small cash grants to families who experience extraordinary hardship as a result of death, fire, illness, homelessness, or other tragedies and do not have the financial resources to recover. This program recognizes the interrelationship between a student’s classroom performance and the home environment. One of just a few of its kind in the nation, the Crisis Fund is an innovative approach to helping our students and their families achieve their best.

The I Can, I Will Step Up, Stop the Violence March begins at 2:00 pm at the School District of Philadelphia Education Center, 440 N. Broad Street. The route goes down Broad Street to Dilworth Plaza, City Hall.
