We are happy to invite you to the World Youth Conference on “Youth as Change Agents-Volunteering for Peace in Multicultural Societies –focussing on the Millennium development Goals” at New Delhi, India November 9-10, 2006. The world is in crisis with natural disasters like Tsunami and earthquakes having increased by 30% in the last few years besides for wars and internal security conditions in Nations. Together with this, the wars on want and absolute hunger need urgent resolution.

Young leaders, motivators, volunteers and youthful professionals must believe that “Change is Possible”. This Conference provides an unique opportunity to engage with energetic minds from across various continents to develop an “Agenda for Change for A World in Peace”. The Youth for Peace Plurality and Equality (Y-PPE), a multi-nation organization Youth volunteer organization (membership upto 35 years of age) - seeks your strength and friendship in making it possible! You are welcome to join.

The Conference offers fascinating networking opportunities and the chance to listen to wonderful speakers. The Conference is being held in close collaboration with the International Association for Volunteer Effort (IAVE), the United Nations Volunteers, Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti (GSDS) and the People’s Institute for Development and Training (PIDT).

There are a number of scholarships available but limited travel grants so do write in. Youth from all the different sectors of society, from at least 40 countries globally, from Cook Islands to Mongolia, and about 22 states from our country will participate to discuss Peace in the context of community building and strengthening in this world of accelerating change.

This Conference preceeds the XIX IAVE World Volunteer Conference on the theme “Volunteering for Peace in Multicultural Societies” , and we welcome your involvement and participation in this Conference at the India Habitat Centre, from 10-14 November 2006. This Conference would see the launch of the Global Corporate Volunteer Council (G-CVC).

One of the primary focus areas of the Conference would be the relevance of Volunteers in the achievement of the eight “Millennium Development Goals” that 180 countries globally are signatory to achieve by 2015. Volunteers are the social capital of any country and their efforts need strengthening to be directed towards the removal of poverty and inequalities, in developing and sustaining Peace all of which are necessary for growth and progress.
