Information Technology (IT) is the largest component of the science and technology industry and this is why more and more governments in Africa today are placing a strong emphasis on IT sector development. Particularly in South Africa, the government has implemented a number of frameworks for policies, infrastructure, partnerships and task forces that will help South African communities play a role in the global economy.
