| December 10th is International Human Rights Day and the Students Coalition Against War - SCAW in partnership with Amnesty International will be hosting a World Cafe discussion on the state of human rights in Canada and abroad. The purpose of the Cafe is to get people from various groups talking about Canada's stance on human rights in Canada and around the world. The Cafe will feature eight roundtables, with each table focusing on a different aspect/issue of human rights and moderated by a different person(s) from a locale organization whose work focuses on such issues. These include such issues as poverty and homelessness, Immigration and immigrant issues, gender and women's rights, indigenous rights, race and racism in modern Canada, and the influence of globalization on Canada's stance on human rights. |
