RAISE YOUR VOICE!
The theme of the training will be Raise Your Voice! 25 Alberta youth will be selected to participate in a youth leadership training weekend. Workshops will focus on building skills for understanding global issues and being active, engaged youth citizens.

Workshops to include: facilitation skills, public speaking, understanding global issues; leadership, working with the media, organizing and event for youth by youth; writing a press release; team building; building a youth network for change; media and technology to change your world. Youth will leave the training ready to coordinate a youth action day!
YOUTH ACTION PROJECTS
Youth Action Projects are events that are organized by youth with the help of Change for Children staff. CHOOSE a local-global social issue of importance to you and organize a small event in your school or community. Your project may be accepted to receive one of four grants for taking action!!!
Host a rock concert in your school to raise awareness about racism or raise money for an international project.
Students from a high school in Edmonton hosted an event called “Day of Change,” where students donated spare change and operated a car wash to raise money for the elimination of landmines in Cambodia. Host a Film Night in your school about water, HIV/AIDS, recycling, etc.
Youth Action Days are a part of Change for Children’s Rural Roots Project, which is an innovative for-youth-by-youth project bringing global education and leadership training to youth around AB. |
