Semesters for Social Innovation has something for every high school student, even you...
Shift Unlimited has created over 50 one-of-a-kind opportunities for Toronto high school students to gain meaningful real- world experience within social, environmental, technological, and culturally innovative organizations. Visit www.ShiftUnltd.com to see a full listing of our placements.
From March 2007 until June 2007, working through your high school's community-based education ("co-op") program, you will contribute 15 hours per week to an organization that matches your interests, skills, and/or career goals. In addition to a great learning experience, tremendous contacts, and the chance to contribute to some very innovative organizations, you will earn two academic credits for your efforts - replacing two regular in-school classes for second semester.
If you're not already signed up for co-op, that’s okay because there's still time to rearrange your second semester schedule to accommodate this one-of-a-kind opportunity, but the time to act is now....
If you are interested in participating in the Semesters for Social Innovation initiative you must attend our initial launch event...
In addition to introductory addresses from Eli Malinsky of the Centre for Social Innovation, and Chris Lowry of Green Enterprise Toronto, this launch event will feature the opportunity to meet representatives from your three favourite Shift co-op placements to show your stuff!
