DetailsLe projet
Are you interested in working on environmental and social justice
issues in the maritimes? Do you want to meet other youth working on
similar issues? Do you want to learn new skills for your projects,
causes, or group?

The Youth Action Group (YAG) will be hosting a conference February
16-18 in Notre Dame, NB. With a focus on being youth-run and
youth-oriented, we will have a variety of workshops, presentations,
and discussions on how to effectively create change in our
communities. By the end of the weekend, we hope all participants will
feel better equipped to challenge pressing issues like climate change,
food security, poverty, etc.

The three-day conference will be held at a cozy camp in the woods 15
minutes outside of Moncton, open to youth from across the maritimes,
and is no-cost (food, accomodations, etc. provided). The camp is
winterized and wheelchair- accessible. We will also do our best to
arrange transportation.

-> If you are interested in attending, please email emmas@syc-cjs.org
or call (506)-854-9530 or (514)-222-8362. We can then send you a
registration form and arrange travel details.

-> If you are interested (youth or not) in putting on a workshop,
sharing a success story about a project that worked well for you,
please email emmas@syc-cjs.org or call (514)-222-8362. We would be
particularly happy if you wanted to do this.

-> If you are interested in being part of the weekend in a supportive
way, we are looking for help! If you are willing to help with cooking
meals or other essential tasks, please email emmas@syc-cjs.org or call
(514)-222-8362.

*We encourage participants to come with groups they are involved in or
to be representatives of a group, but this is by no means necessary.
We would like you to join us in any capacity*

Please email if you have any questions or would like any more information!

*********************
The NBEN Youth Action Group is a network of dedicated young activists
in the maritimes. Our collective goal is to strengthen the youth
social/environmental movement by sharing ideas and resources,
co-ordinating campaigns, and in general supporting and inspiring each
other in as many ways as possible.

We put this into practice by meeting every three weeks over the phone
to update each other on what we're up to and ask questions and get
advice. We also actively plan events/get-togethers/conferences and
mobilize around local/current/urgent issues.
