DetailsAbout
The World Civil Society Forum was initiated during the Millennium Forum in New York (May 2000) to reinforce cooperation between organizations working in the international arena. It mainly intends to strengthen cooperation between indigenous peoples, civil society organizations, and the various United Nations agencies.

The World Civil Society Youth Forum, is aimed to give a voice to youth, the makers of tomorrow's world and increasingly strong actors of today's. The plenary session of the Youth World Civil Society Forum, will be held on 13 July 2002 at CICG following 3 days of workshops focusing on three main topics: human rights, sustainable development and piece building.

The main goal of the Youth Forum is to strengthen the role of youth in international cooperation by finding bridges among youth networks worldwide and civil society. Since the primary purpose is to discuss transgenerational cooperation and partnership, participants will be asked to refrain from explicit political discussions. Similarly, the emphasis will be on individual opinions and perspectives rather than those representing particular organizations..

Objectives
- To develop a joint strategy for maximizing the effectiveness of youth participation in the World Civil Society Forum, as well as in other international forums and in civil society as a whole. A hopeful outcome will be the establishment of a Permanent Youth Forum attached to the annual World Civil Society Forum.
- To create a space for dialogue between youth and other stakeholders of the international scene, such as civil society organizations, the UN, governments and the private sector.
- To provide a networking opportunity for young people from different regions of the world and different fields of activity.

Organizations involved:
The Hague Appeal for Peace Youth Program, International Peace Bureau, International School of Geneva, Mandat International, LEO Club Geneve, Arcanne Design and more
