The International Association for Human Values (IAHV) is a global, humanitarian, non-governmental organization that works for the propagation of human values throughout the world. IAHV is in special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations.
The Youth Leadership Training Programs (YLTP) offered by IAHV empower youth by creating a platform from which they can make a difference in their own world. YLTP aims to revive and enrich communities through uplifting and transforming youth.
YLTP starts with a 10-day intensive training program in which young people learn and practice stress-relief techniques. Additionally, they are trained to teach a free trauma and stress relief course called Breath Water Sound. After the training period participants share these techniques through fieldwork in an area where peace of mind is desperately needed: Post-Katrina New Orleans.
The programme begins on June 18, 2007 with a 10-day residential training program followed by fieldwork. Participants have three fieldwork options: two, four or six weeks of service. Participants can receive credit for this program as an unpaid internship. Participants must be 18 years of age. An application form and two letters of recommendation are required. Final Registration: May 15, 2007.
