The Asian Youth Forum (AYF) is a unique youth event which brings
together college-aged young people from Korea, Japan, Thailand, Taiwan and
other Asian countries to discuss language, culture, global issues and
international understanding through the medium of
English-as-an-Asian-language. The AYF will include both academic events
(seminars on language learning, leadership, world problems, Asian
stereotypes) and social events (local excursions, local homestays, cultural
performances). Our theme for this year: Youth For Sustainable Development
The third AYF is being planned for November 8-11, 2002 at the Chien
Tan Overseas Youth Activity Center in Taipei, Taiwan as part of the fourth
"Pan-Asian" language teaching conference (PAC4). At the AYF, students and
youth from across Asia will join together to learn about each other's
countries, share mutual concerns, explore global issues and make
cross-cultural friendships.
