Pamoja Youth Work Camp@ the shore Great Lake Victoria
“I'm doing what I think I was put on this earth to do. And I'm really grateful to have something that I'm passionate about and that I think is profoundly important.”
Join Our Service Expeditions — International Service & Outreach
Love is a universal language: and your group can learn to speak it fluently.
CadifKenya is organizing community work camp. Basically the work camp will involve volunteers from Europe, Asia and America who will join the community in working on a community based projects for 2 weeks. There is no limit on the nature of the projects as long its something that will involve the community and the volunteers will just be joining the community members. Most of the volunteers do not necessarily have special skills concerning the project undertaken, but they are mainly people who have volunteered to come and have an international experience, cultural interactions and maybe get to know the challenges that other people from Africa face.
Main objectives of the program
1. To bring together the community and the volunteers to assist in community sustainable projects.
2. To provide an opportunity for cultural exchange through the interactions of volunteers with the community with an aim of creating interlinkages for future partnerships with the community.
3. Possible technical advice from the volunteers (incase there is a professional volunteer).
The community is going to provide accommodation site which is cheap, with toilets and cooking area, secure and where water is available. We are going to join the community together with the leaders and local CBOs who will come up with a project that the volunteers will join them in carrying out.
The programme is carefully constructed around four common themes, detailed below, to meet the specific requirements of the individual learner or learner group.
-Working Together
-Communicating with each other
-Problem Solving
-Decision Making
The outdoor environment allows us to carefully construct a programme based around these four common themes, ensuring the needs of our community are firmly at the centre of this process.
Pack your passport and expand your horizons. During these 16 day work adventures, you and your group will touch the lives of people in another part of the world through practical service and outreach. The only requirement: a willingness to serve people in need!
You'll join with people from other Christian churches to work in teams, demonstrating God's love to people in Kenya
You will enjoy making new friends. Forging stronger relationships within your group. Building community. Making memories. Helping others. Developing a heart for needs in other parts of the world. And, increasing your desire to pursue God.
You'll serve in meaningful ways; even learning new skills. It's fun, it's exciting and it's already planned for you. Service includes activities such as painting and weatherizing, building and repairing porches and steps, community service as well as serving the elderly.
And don't forget the special daily programs…a time of group interaction and spiritual growth you just can't get at home. Scripture, music, videos, God Sightings, devotions, prayer…they're all here. All planned by the ministry experts at Group Magazine, to ignite your faith.
So, help your group step out of their comfort zone. Use an unfamiliar setting to inspire them toward a deeper dependence and more passionate pursuit of God.
