DetailsInformación
International Youth Week 2007 will take place May 5-12th 2007. During the week, young people all over the world will implement concrete actions to improve their communities. The week will celebrate and inspire proactive youth involvement in communities near and far, and we will encourage this activism to remain year-round.

Youth Week 2007 is about cooperation, not competition—activity, not passivity—and solutions, not problems. It is a project of ideas, creativity, and visions for a brighter future. We’ll connect education to ACTION! Our project is
a decentralized, grassroots one in which youth ‘think global, act local’ about social and environmental challenges.

Participants like yourselves are invited to showcase your ideas, solutions, projects, and events. We’re here to provide support for youth initiatives, by making connections between like-minded groups, and offering publicity, resources, and contacts.

Youth will not only learn and talk about change, but initiate and live that change. Youth will begin new initiatives with the support of each other and of more experienced organizations. It’s about working in solidarity for just, compassionate and sustainable communities.

WHO?
A global network of local and international youth movements, working together in this unique, youth-for-youth, collaborative project. Young people from all walks of life—diverse cultures, individual youth, students, groups, clubs, councils, associations, agencies, organizations—basically, anyone who cares about youth!

WHY?
Youth Week 2007 is our chance to celebrate and inspire community youth action, in solidarity with youth networks worldwide. We want to move from policy to practice—from education to action. We’re not just "leaders of tomorrow"; today’s youth must challenge ourselves to see what we can achieve if we pool our talents and energy, making ripples then waves. Let’s show the world how youth envision a more just and sustainable future and what positive changes we can and do achieve!

WHAT?
A week of action all over the globe! We’ll make it easy for you to access research, experts, youth-friendly toolkits, event ideas and calendars, funding, inspiring project examples, and each other. We’ll show off your cool projects and events in the Youth Week newsletter, Youth Action Forum, and on www.youthweek2007.org. You provide the creativity and energy—it’s that simple! Take initiative in your own community and help spread the word among young people.

WHEN?
Youth Week is being held May 5 -12, 2007.

WHERE?
Everywhere! Take Youth Week 2007 into your community. Contact us at the Toronto office, or if you are not in the city and do not have a regional Youth Week Coordinator, be your region’s contact person.

HOW?
Get involved! You get newsletters, research, toolkits, ideas, and much more. Be a regional coordinator! Spread the word! Fill in the registration form or just contact us and we’ll connect you with other people sharing your interests in your community.
