DetailsAbout
Over the past decade, project management has taken a central role in civil society work and can be considered today as a tool for social change, a cornerstone to community development and to build and/or strengthen civil society organisations. As a consequence, the development and management of projects has become a necessary skill for civil society organisations and project managers.

The program is designed to equip participants with skills for better management of community based development programmes. This course will further provide the participants with a concrete ‘step-by-step’ approach including hints and guidelines for developing and implementing a successful project from a gender based perspective in order to achieve the Millennium Development Goals, MDGs.

In this course, several issues and problem areas of project management for innovation will be covered. Particular attention will be paid to delivering products and services with speed and quality. Special emphasis will be placed on the importance of the project “users” and how project management involves them. Besides project phasing, the different “tools of project management”, such as project quality, planning/scheduling, financial management, project organisation, documentation control and communication, will be discussed in detail.

It will further empower the participants to become better able to assess needs, articulate a plan, mobilize resources and render accounts, as well as effective evaluation of their organisation projects.
