Name of the Open Forum: Millennium Youth Resolution Forum (MYRF)
Specific issues that the Open Forum will focus on:
(i) Challenges of the grassroot youth
(ii) Multisectoral approaches to tackle the identified challenges
(iii) Untapped resources at the grassroot
(iv) Modes and method of maximising the grassroot resources for youth empowerment and emancipation
(v) MGDs and its half-way impact at the grassroot
Rationale for holding this Open Forum:
(i) To identify and profer lasting solutions to challenges of the grassroot youths with a consensus approach.
(ii) To unfold the untapped resources at the grassroot for youth emancipation and empowerment
(iii) To proactively integrate the grassroot youth network for 21st century advancement
(iv) To institutionalise the MDGs among the youth at the grassroot.
Goals the organizer hopes to achieve by holding this Open Forum for youth in the community:
(i) The problem of youth redundancy at the grassroot would be removed.
(ii) The youth restiveness and risky behaviour as a result of idleness and barrage of misinformation would be stamped out. This one of the problem root cause of high prevalence of HIV/AIDS among youths
(iii) Empowerment programmes would be instituted at the grassroot
(iv) MDGs’ benefits would be internalised by the grassroot youth.
