The Natural World Museum and the United Nations Environment Programme are pleased to present this exhibition as part of the Art for the Environment Initiative.
Art for the Environment is a global initiative designed to utilize the universal language of art as a catalyst to unite people in action and thought, and to empower individuals, communities and leaders to focus on environmental values across social, economic & political realms.
This event is a conversation among leaders in art, conservation, literature, policy and technology. Advocates of true global partnership, these individuals are committed to the holistic effort needed to inspire communities and decision makers into becoming active agents of sustainable development.
This exhibit, launched in Norway at the Nobel Peace Centre on World Environment Day 2008, brings together 40 artists from around the world to address issues confronting our changing environment as reflected in the melting and thawing of ice, snow, and permafrost from the Himalayas to Kilimanjaro, from the Andes to the Artic.
