People, Participation and Power.

The 2008 CIVICUS Youth Assembly will examine many issues that affect the role and participation of young people in the decision making process. We will be raising awareness of many different issues, enhancing your knowledge, building your capacity and developing your skills, but most importantly giving you opportunities and introducing you to networks and organisations to enable you to play your part and take action on issues which are important to you.

Participation is the key to the Youth Assembly and as a key part of the programme you will learn skills and tools to be able to manage the development of ideas and projects in a fully participative way ensuring that the best ideas and routes to effective action are available.

To apply to attend the event, download the application or apply online from Mid-October 2007 on the website www.civicusyouth.org

To remove barriers to participating, attendance at the event is free of charge, we will also provide your accommodation and food for the week, however places are limited to 200 and all delegates will be selected from the Application process. We are also hoping to be able to offer a limited number of travel bursaries to attend the event.

As part of selection as a delegate to the Youth Assembly we will also support and enrol you as a full delegate at the CIVICUS World Assembly which runs 18th-21st June and is a key component of this event, where you will meet with many of the world's leading International Civil Society and Development NGOs as well as some of the World's influential groups and individuals who come together once a year to exchange ideas, experiences and build strategies for a just and equitable world.
