How to Get the Most from Attending Youth Arcade Soccer Competition 2007
Plan Your Day
Look through the Program schedule and event descriptions to decide which activities you want to attend. Spend the whole day, morning, afternoon, or just a session. The longer you stay, the more opportunity for you to learn and network Our Motto:” Work hard and Play Hard”
Bring lots of Business Cards
This Fun packed one day event will be a great opportunity for generating Youth business leads. Throughout the day, you will be introduced to many people from all areas of the business community. With of course fellow small and young business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs in attendance, you can easily end up exchanging over 100 business cards!
Take Lots of Notes
At Arcade Soccer Competition 2007, you will be introduced to lots of programs, services, products and people that will help you get started in business or to help you grow and expand your existing business.
Don't rely on memory. Take lots of notes during the day. When meeting people and exchanging business cards, write down what was discussed so you'll remember your conversation for follow-up purposes.
Learn the Art of Networking
Get high quality business leads and contacts just by having fun! Meet face to face with Young and Key decision-makers, suppliers and potential clients. Be sure to bring lots of business cards!
Prepare your 20 second Power Introduction
When you meet someone for the first time, it's been said you have 20 seconds to create a positive first impression. What you say (and how your body language says it) in those 20 seconds will determine if the listener will want to know more about you or if they want to help you.
Ask questions
A key to learning is asking lots of questions. At Arcade Soccer Fun day and Competition 2007, you will have the opportunity to meet key individuals with the answers and solutions for your business. All you need to do is ask.
Sample questions to ask:
• “What do you do?"
• “What products and services do you provide"
• “How can you help me?"
• "Can you give us some advice on....?"
• "Besides yourself, do you know of other individuals, companies or agencies that I should meet?"- "How did you get started in business?"
• "What are some things I should look out for?"
• "Can you give me an example of a business situation involving....?
• "How would you solve my business problem...?
• "Can I have your business card?"Etc.
Be prepared to answer questions
Similarly, people will probably ask you the same questions so you should be prepared to provide answers. That's how business relationships are started so take advantage of these opportunities to sell yourself.
Follow-up
Be sure you follow-up with the leads you made at the 2007 Fun day as soon as possible. People often forget people they meet or the information they gathered at events unless they follow-up immediately. Whether it be a phone call, a letter or email, or even sms, be sure you follow-up with the people you meet. That one phone call, letter, email or sms could change your future.
