DetailsAbout
** This is a PAST event held in 2006 **

SYINC (formerly Singapore International Youth Council) ran its inaugural project in Feb 2006. The workshop, "Exploring Sustainable Development", was also the first MDG youth project in Singapore.

The 2-day workshop featured an introduction to the MDG development framework, thematic issues such as HIV/AIDS, gender equality, peace & conflict in Burma, environmental sustainability, human rights, fair trade, among others.

It also looked at the role of young people, in particular Singapore youth, in taking action and contributing to development and social change.

An outcome of the workshop: Participants (and others who were interested) came together and sparked the nation's first Fair Trade network, which has since grown and can be found at: fairtrade.sg

We work as an enabler of young people to act as agents of social change. We do this in 2 ways: i) Connecting people who share a common desire rnto create positive social change; ii) Equipping them with the resources, tools and opportunities to make it happen.
