This February 8th-10th the Trent University Students' Association in International Development, the KWIC Seeds for Justice Program, and the Canadian Association for the Study in International Development/L'association canadienne d' études du d éveloppement international bring you the Community Movements: Building Solidarity for Social Change Conference, taking place in Peterborough, Ontario.
We invite you to attend and participate in the Building Solidarity Conference to share experiences, critical reflections and innovative ideas on strategies and methodologies for community-based social change. The conference is focused on strengthening the capacity of community-based organizations engaged in social and environmental change.
This participatory gathering of students, social activists, academics, grassroots organizations and individuals passionate about community-based social change will further deepen communication and promote solidarity among social justice, feminist, labour, indigenous and environmental movements both locally and globally through workshops, dialogue and critical reflections on successes and challenges. An important aspect will be the promotion of mutual learning through North-South exchanges.
If the registration costs are a prohibitive factor to your participation, please contact us and we can discuss waiving the fees. Free accomodation can be provided in Peterborough participants' homes if desired. We do not wish to exclude anyone from participating on the basis of cost. |
