What would you say if you had the chance to tell world leaders your views about global issues?
In July 2008, leaders of the eight wealthiest countries in the world will meet in Japan for their annual G8 Summit. The agenda includes tough issues like child health, infectious diseases and economic development.
The UNICEF Junior 8 Summit brings together young people from the UK and the other G8 countries to meet with world leaders and discuss how to change our world for the better.
Want to get involved?
Getting involved is easy:
-Enter as a team of four students, between the ages of 14 and 17.
-Demonstrate an understanding of and a commitment to social justice issues.
-Judges will choose one team to represent the UK that will travel to Chitose, Japan, from July 2 to 9 2008, joining with other J8 youth to present a declaration to world leaders at the G8 Summit.
-Deadline for applicants is 31 March 2008.
