Second GYSD-YUNGA2008 Sensitization Seminar for Youth Organizations And Community Leaders In Ghana .
United Youth Front International is the official local organizer in Nigeria to celebrate the Global Youth Service Day (GYSD2008) and will host the Second YUNGA Sensitization Seminar for Youth Organizations and Community Leaders in Africa on Friday 25th April, 2008 at #1 Kokofu Palace, Kokofu-Kumasi, Ghana.
United Youth Front International in collaboration with Ageless International Foundation, supports of the Kokofu Youth Association and Kokofu Committee Unit, invite you to the Second GYSD-YUNGA2008 Sensitization Seminar for Youth Organizations and Community Leaders In Ghana. The first of its kind held in Nigeria as GYSD2007 Lagos Communiqué and unique is that it has the ambition of focusing exclusively on a Youth Representation at the United Nations General Assembly with its structure and organization. In order to increase the influence of young people in decision-making processes, the United Nations General Assembly has long been encouraging their member countries to send youth delegates as part of their delegations to the General Assembly (GA). The delegates are democratically selected delegates of the youth of their home countries. They take an active part in the discussions as well as giving a statement in the Third Committee of the General Assembly, which discusses social, humanitarian and cultural issues-and with the support of an organization like the National Youth Council.
Second GYSD-YUNGA2008 Sensitization Seminar for Youth Organizations And Community Leaders In Ghana will draw upon the experience made during the GYSD2007, where it was successful while participants will have the opportunity to attend the Lunch of the AIF-Kokofu Development Plan 2008-2012; debate and comment on National Youth Council, leaving it up to you-decision taken as a result in GYSD2008 Kumasi Communique. In doing this, Uyfi will at all stages endeavour to uphold the principle of democracy, transparency and accountability etc
Seminar aim to: 1) A Brief Guide to Youth Delegates to the United Nations General Assembly 2) Prepared for Member States of the United Nations 3) Information on becoming a youth delegate.
