"Blue-in-Green: Articulating Human Rights & the Environment" is an attempt
to bring together academics and activists to explore the link between
fundamental human rights and sustaining the environment, organized by the
student communities of McGill and Concordia Universities. In addition to
30 workshops, there will be speakers from all over the world, bringing
unique perspectives from places such as Argentina, Nigeria, Nepal, Peru.
We'll liven things up a bit and try to build a sense of community over the
weekend with some creative engagement, direct action, amazing entertainment
(concerts, dinner, pub crawl, ice skating) and free GREAT food from places
like the People's Potato and the Midnight Kitchen. It all takes place in
beautiful Montreal, where you can check out the Old Port, St.Catherine's
Street, the famous nightlife and Mount Royal....
And the best part? This conference is open to everyone and costs are
student-style: only $25 CDN for the whole weekend! But you must register
asap.
Check out the always-under-construction www.blueingreen.org for more info
and for the message board to find billets, deals on hotels, rides to
Montreal, etc.
