نحن نعيش في عالم شديد التنوع ثقافيا، دينيا، وحضاريا لذلك يبدو الحوار ضرورة من أجل تجنب التحيز، المفاهيم الخاطئة، والصراعات
وحيث أن الشباب هم القطاع الأكثر نشاطا في مجتمعاتهم، يكون من واجبهم أن يمدوا جسر الحوار بينهم وبين"الآخر". ولأن الإنترنت ووسائل الاتصال الحديثة الأخرى أمور مألوفة بين الشباب، أصبح لزاما علينا أن نفكر في كيفية استثمار هذه الوسائل في تشجيع الحوار بين الثقافات.

الذي تنظمه TakingITGlobal مع مكتبة الإسكندرية في مصر وذلك بالتعاون مع مؤسسات محلية في كل من مصر، الاردن، لبنان، فلسطين، العراق، قطر، يمن، الامارات، تونس، والمغرب
. تستضيف الدردشة ضيوف متحدثين وسيشارك الشباب بآرائهم وأفكارهم تجاه الموضوع والقضايا المطروحة.

We are living in a world of extremely diverse cultures, religions and backgrounds. Therefore to avoid misconceptions, prejudice and conflicts, dialogue emerges to be a must.
Since youth are the most active sector in their communities, it is their duty to carry out such mission to reach out for the ‘other’ and establish dialogue. And because youth are familiar with the internet and all the new communication technologies, we have to think how to harness such new media in promoting dialogue across cultures.
TakingITGlobal will be hosting an Arabic Live Chat entitled ‘Utilizing new media to promote dialogue across cultures’. The Live Chat is one of the activities of the ‘Youth for Change Project’ which is a joint project between TIG and Bibliotheca Alexandrina in Egypt, in cooperation with local organizations in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Iraq, Qatar, Yemen, UAE, Tunisia and Morocco. The Live Chat will feature guest speakers and youth participants who are expected to share their perspectives on this issue.
