Biography (modified from www.speakers.ca): Martin and Farah Perelmuter didn't wait until they were in their forties to decide that climbing the corporate ladder wasn't for them. At age 25, the married Toronto couple quit their high-paying jobs to launch their own business, Speakers' Spotlight, an agency that represents professional public speakers.
Three years later, the agency handles such celebrity speakers as astronaut Roberta Bondar and hockey hero Paul Henderson. As a result of their commitment, Speakers' Spotlight has emerged as the leading exclusively-Canadian speakers agency, with offices in Toronto and Vancouver. Farah and Martin's insights have been aired on national television and published in numerous leading publications, including; The Globe & Mail, The Financial Post Magazine, The Toronto Star, Toronto Sun, Profit Magazine, En Route, Corporate Meetings & Incentives, Association Magazine, Meetings & Incentive Travel, and The Meeting Professional.
Farah is featured in the Who's Who of Canadian Business Women, has twice been nominated as a Women Who Makes a Difference by Toronto Life Fashion Magazine. Martin's views on the speaking industry has been published and read by meeting planners in over 60 countries around the world. They have been nominated for the Canada's Top 40 Under 40 Award, and the Young Entrepreneurs Award through the Business Development Bank of Canada.
In May, 2002, Speakers' Spotlight was selected by Profit Magazine as one of the 100 fastest growing companies in Canada, and were listed in the 2002 PROFIT 100, Canada's authoritative ranking of high growth companies.
Every year Farah and Martin give back to the community by inviting the public to annual Showcases. These events provide a unique opportunity for individuals to learn from and be inspired by some of Canada's leaders in the areas of personal and professional development.
