THEME: Engineering in International Development: One piece of the puzzle
Technical problems in international development cannot be solved without taking into account environmental, social, political and culture issues. The EWB-ISF National Conference 2003 will challenge members and professionals to consider these issues in research, projects, and everyday problem solving. We will host speakers, panels, and workshops which are thought-provoking and insightful.
GOALS
*Inform about the role of engineering in international development
*Educate on the challenges faced in a multi-disciplinary approach to international development
*Discuss the role of other disciplines in international development and impacts on engineering
*Motivate participants to think critically about responsible, multi-faceted development
*Encourage participants to address complex, real-world issues using problem solving skills |
