The Annual Youth Assembly at the United Nations attracts hundreds of youth participants to New York City in August from over 52 countries who are interested in identifying pressing global issues and working towards enacting positive change. The mission of the Youth Assembly is to inspire young people to make a difference in United Nations renewal by giving them the opportunity to learn and get involved with programs aimed at achieving the Millennium Development Goals. The Assembly has grown to become a major gathering of young people at the United Nations. This year, young professionals (18-26 years old) will learn ways to “Take Plans into Action,” and applicants are already as diverse as Nepal to Pakistan, Ghana to Germany, Nigeria, Cameroon, and Haiti!
This event, free after registration, is preceded by an optional, extensive Leadership Seminar and followed by a social program for getting to know New York City. |
