BACKGROUND
The “GIRLS ON IT” programme is conducted by corps members. NYSC Reproductive Health and HIV & AIDS Project was implemented by UNICEF in collaborations with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Scheme of Nigeria, Peer Education Trainers where trained during orientation camp to carry out community development service in HIV and AIDS programming. The HIV and AIDS Club community development service carry out a general group programme but this programme was initiated by a team in Government Girls College, Funtua, Katsina State Nigeria. The aim of the programme is “To step down UNICEF framework to generate new brand of leaders with vision to create information on friendly environment and to deepen youth understanding of issues that has to do with HIV & AID management”. The training commences every Tuesday and Wednesday weekly and would end by 2009 when corp members would be through with service year.
