| The approach to Transformative Mediation developed and applied by the Department of Peace Operations includes practical tools and methods designed to assist mediators and parties in conflicts. Opportunities and challenges presented by different mediation tracks and international and national efforts to address conflicts will be addressed, while what is needed to improve effectiveness, coordination, and coherence in peacemaking efforts to contribute to achieving agreements and durable processes which address conflict parties’ needs and offer the possibility for a lasting peace will be thoroughly assessed. Drawing on practical experiences in mediation on four continents the program is ideal for policy makers, practitioners and diplomats engaged in complex multi-party mediation efforts and transforming intractable and protracted conflicts. |
