What is it about?

Dine To Save A Life is a Global fundraiser that is organised in commemoration of the world AIDS day, and invites you all as citizens of the world to participate in what is jointly one huge feast - where something as JUST as sharing a meal with dearest and nearest can help to combat HIV/AIDS among the disadvantaged young people. The event is an initiative of Youth With A Vision (YWAV)

How is it done?

Volunteers from all corners of the world, sign up to host a meal for their family, friends, colleagues and sweet hearts in their community. Depending on your talents and interest, you could choose to host a breakfast, brunch, lunch, cocktail, barbecue, dinner or just drinks. It could be small or big, home made or catered, formal or informal, and ask your guests to donate from $5 - $30 per head or whatever they can afford to give to our work with the AIDS affected children.

We need as many volunteers as possible to host a meal in your region and you could be the one, or you could help to reach the people you think will make this happen.

Dine to save a life was inaugurated on 3rd of November to 1st of December 2007 in conjunction with the world AIDS day. During this period, people from several parts of the world held private dinner parties, small and large, and collected donations from their guests. All these funds raised through the parties were then donated to Youth With A Vision to benefit programmes for the young people orphaned and made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS. Through this joint dinner party, Dine To Save A Life 2007 raised $3,500!

In 2008, Dine To Save A Life will take place from 1st November to 1st December and aims to raise $100,000, and the more people who contribute, the higher the prospects of success and greater change we can make! With your interest and support, we will raise it. Funds collected through this year’s event will expand to benefit the Child Sponsorship programme which provides AIDS awareness campaigns and education opportunities to the impoverished children and the Youth Centre for Skills Development which provides employable skills to young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to access jobs that will improve their lives.

We cannot fight AIDS alone. Neither can we challenge its consequences alone.
We need you along side, to make ‘Dine To Save A Life’ the biggest, most exciting, inclusive and memorable celebration of the world AIDS day ever.

Why should I participate?

‘Dine To Save A Life’ is an avenue for you to showcase your desire to stop AIDS.
It will provide you with an opportunity to discuss HIV/AIDS issues facing the vulnerable children in our communities around the world, to pledge to take action, and to fundraise.

It could be a chance for you to win a trip to Uganda and have that life experience of another world. Anyone who raises $600 or more from their event will be entered into a draw and two grand prize winners will travel to Uganda to have hands on the programmes we are raising the funds for!

This is a great chance for you to entertain, spend time with your friends and share those good memories. It will help you to show your loved ones how special they are to you.
