This event is part of a another event, XVII International AIDS Conference
Activists and people affected by HIV and AIDS will join a global rally for human rights during the International AIDS Conference in Mexico City. Please join OSI and HIV and human rights organizations from around the world to express support for populations at high risk for HIV, and for vastly greater attention to human rights in the response to HIV.
During the rally, a copy of the declaration HIV/AIDS and Human
Rights: Now More Than Ever, endorsed by over 500 organizations worldwide, will be presented to high-level officials.
Participants will gather at 1:30 p.m. in front of the main stage in the Global Village. The rally will feature keynote addresses by Mary Robinson, executive director of the Ethical Globalization Initiative and former UN high commissioner for Human Rights and president of Ireland; Mark Heywood, head of the AIDS Law Project, South Africa; and Peter Piot, UNAIDS executive director, among others. |
