Hey Volunteers,
Apathy is Boring is proud to present the kick off event to its 2008 Concert Series: "Every Party Should Be Democratic" with the Governor General's Youth Dialogue session at the World Youth Congress (WYC) in addition to an amazing concert with artists including Jully Black, Samian, K'naan, Eternia, and more. Hosted by MTV 4Real's Sol Guy, the events will feature the WYC's international session, Apathy is Boring's National Video Contest, and a variety of performers from all across the country.
While the event itself will take place on Wednesday August 13th, we'll need a dedicated team of 10 key volunteers to be in Quebec overnight (Wednesday August 13th morning till afternoon of Thursday August 14th) to help us out. Your accommodations, food, and transport (if needed) will of course be covered by us. If anyone has a drivers' license and or car, even better!
Volunteer Tasks
We're looking for people to fill the following roles. If you're enthusiastic, responsible, and want to check out an awesome event for a good cause, get in touch! Questions, concerns, anything - just email or call us.
1. Surveyors (x5): You'll be out in the crowds asking audience members questions and filling out Apathy is Boring surveys.
2. Tabling / Selling Gear (x4): 4 of you will man the Apathy is Boring table, providing information, collecting emails for our mailing list, and of course selling our t-shirts and gear.
3. Audience Coordinators (x4): Crowd control anyone? From escorting the WYC delegates to their appropriate locations to making sure the audience is in the right spot at the right time, you'll be coordinating all attendees at the events.
4. Tech Coordinator (x1) (Videos, Text Msg. etc.): If you're tech-savvy (i.e. can push PLAY at the right time), this job's for you - someone will need to coordinate all our tech equipment, from airing the Video Contest finalists to projecting the interactive text messaging throughout the show.
5. Clean Up Crew (x5): The aftermath of every party - we'll need some dedicated volunteers to do damage control on site the morning of the 14th. |
