This year will be the twentieth year of the annual Akdeburgh Poetry Festival.
Two decades on and the essence remains: the power of live poetry, the passion for the artform, the buzz and the lasting benefits for audiences and poets. Twenty-two of them this year – from America, Australia, China, Ireland, South Africa and the UK – will feature across forty-four events (thirteen entirely free). As always the programme continues to evolve, but now there’s a new dimension.
The Poetry Channel goes live this autumn, welcoming audiences all over the world to imaginatively curated audio highlights from this and from past Festivals. Already synonymous with the presentation of outstanding live events, The Poetry Trust is going digital – to make an exceptional virtual space for poetry.
Come in person to Aldeburgh this November if you can. It’s always the ultimate poetry weekend. Or visit later, from anywhere you like, online. |
