About AIMUN
----------------
Alexandria International Model of the United Nations or rather, AIMUN, is a model of the United Nations, organized by the SDA in Alexandria, Egypt.

A Model United Nations is a simulation of the United Nations, where participants get to learn about diplomatic relations, globalization and effective communication techniques. In a Model UN, participants get to take on roles as diplomats, by representing a country and investigating the international issues related to it, trying to develop real solutions to these problems.

The activities of the model consist of a series of workshops followed by a conference. In the workshops, the delegates (participants) are introduced to the required theoretical background in politics and development, as well as being trained in soft skills, i.e. research, presentation and negotiation skills. Finally, in the conference, the delegates take the roles of the decision makers in different organs of the United Nations, applying the skills they gained throughout the workshops.
