The Principal objectives of Unraveling Racism Training II - Applied skills are:
* To deepen and refine participants’ knowledge of the roots and realities of racism and build on the skills learned in the Core Training (part I)
* To examine communication styles and barriers to effective, respectful, cross-cultural communication.
* To prepare participants to translate and articulate this expanded knowledge to other members of the community.
* To analyze the personal, institutional and cultural manifestations of racism, with attention to “historical” and “contemporary” racism in the U.S.
* To expand participants’ understanding of white privilege, white supremacy and internalized racism.
* To Practice skills for recognizing and identifying racist practices and policies that occur in institutions.
* To demonstrate personal and institutional intervention techniques.
* To integrate the concept of personal spheres of influence with anti-racist, organizational and community development. |
