Sunday, 19 October 2008
As part of the response of ActionAid Nigeria to the global food crisis, in observance of World Food Day 2008 and within the context of the HungerFREE campaign in Nigeria, we are organizing a “Music for Food Justice” concert at the International Conference Centre in Abuja on Sunday, 19 October 2008. Some of the best known artistes will be feature on the bill – 9ice (of the “Kan Kan So” fame), Timaya, Sani Danja, Styl-Plus and Bright Chimezie, a well known highlife artiste, among others.
Also highlighting the show will be in house ActionAid Angels, who will render our organizational anthem and the HungerFREE theme song. The Angels will also back a new kid-on-the-block in the person of Young Charlly Parker as he raps the award-winning “National Pain.” The song placed first in a recent ActionAid-sponsored competition.
Popular Hollywood actors Richard Mofe-Damijo, Hilda Dokubo and Desmond Elliot will be at the show.
We have a limited number of tickets in the following denominations:
1. Single: N2,000
2. Couple: N 3,000
3. Students with ID cards and young persons: N 500
Please indicate the numbers required by your organization to Grace Okechukwu (grace.okechukwu@actionaid.org; 07037775005), and we’ll speedily deliver these to you.
Remember, it’s happening on Sunday, 19 October, from 3.00 pm.
Come join in a huge vibration against hunger and the injustice that breeds it.
