The Global Peacemakers project in Honduras will bring together students from all over the United States, Honduras and from regional countries.
Volunteers will be building a Pre-K classroom in the Altos de los Pinos community, located near Tegucigalpa. Participants will work closely with a group of women from this community that have built their own homes with the bricks they have learned to create.
The Pre-K classroom will benefit the dozens of children that live with single mothers. This project is the initial phrase of this community initiative, which will involve expanding the facility and services for other groups in need such as the elderly.
Volunteers will live with host- families in the Vegas del Rio community, and transported to the project site daily. The program will include a leisure day for the participants. Visit our website for more information and updates, including pictures. |
