The NAIS Annual Conference is a yearly gathering of the independent school community, serving school heads and their leadership teams. The conference provides opportunities for invaluable networking and offers professional development on critical leadership and educational issues of the times. Increasingly the conference has become a means for “breakthrough thinking,” seeking to inspire school leaders to look ahead to big picture ideas and challenges faced by educators in this new century and to plan proactively for them.
In February 2009, the NAIS Annual Conference moves to the windy city of Chicago where more than 3,500 attendees are expected. Participants will attend the conference to gain inspiration and practical knowledge about how to improve their school learning environments, and how to manage innovation within their schools, as they seek to meet 21st century realities. Our schools are buffeted by new economic realities, increasing energy costs, changing school-age demographics, and a flatter, smaller world. NAIS’s vision of independent schools leading the way to demographic, environmental, programmatic, global, and financial sustainability will be addressed by the insights of breakthrough-thinking speakers and innovative workshop leaders.
