A one day information event will be delivered in each of the four MRU countries. The objectives of the information events are: to provide practical information on the Competitive Grant Scheme; to build the proposal design and application capacity of potential Competitive Grant Scheme applicants; to provide specific guidance on proposal design and application procedures to meet the selection criteria of this Competitive Grant Scheme.

YEN will invite youth organizations in the country to register their interest in attending the information seminar. Two facilitators from YEN office for West Africa (YEN-WA) will deliver the seminar. The seminars will cater for up to 40 participants each. Invitees will be representatives of youth organizations who are eligible to apply to the Competitive Grant Scheme.

Eligible youth organizations are officially registered, non-governmental, non-profit, youth led organizations in the Manu River Union countries. Their main objective should be focused on the creation or promotion of decent employment for youth.

Information will be provided to representatives of youth organizations who also will have the opportunity to ask questions on information necessary to project design according to Competitive Grant Scheme standards as well as application procedures.

Participants will be guided through a sample of youth employment initiatives for practical application of the application model proposed by the Competitive Grant Scheme.

Participation in the Competitive Grant Scheme will be invited via YEN email lists, youth umbrella organizations, newspaper press releases, web site ads, and radio announcements in each of the four countries.
