As the International Chain Awareness Club (ICA), we are inviting you to this year’s ICA Conference!
First of all, what is ICA?
ICA Club is a student based international organization to find solutions to global, environmental and health-threatening issues set by the United Nations as the Millennium Development Goals (MDG).
In order to establish our goals we are crafting applicable action plans and knowing that small steps will make a difference, we try to raise awareness.
What are the MDG’s?
Millennium Development Goals set by the United Nations are the main focus of this organization.
There are seven different committees that represent each goal:
• Education
• Hunger and Poverty
• Water Deficits
• Child Mortality
• Gender Inequality
• Global Warming
• Ecosystem Losses
As high school students we are seeking international participants who are:
- Fluent in English
- Globally aware
- Capable of disputing in debates
- In the top percentile of their classes
- Interested in ameliorating the larger world
- Creative
Students with such qualities may chose to be a part of one of our committees and work with other students from all around the world.
Action plans will be crafted and possible solutions will be brought forward from heated debate sessions. Students will ‘get their hands dirty’ and really achieve their goals and execute their action plans.
ICA’09 is going to take place in Enka Schools in March.
As the organizers we are funding the transportation and lodging of students who come from abroad.
