University and college Students from across Atlantic Canada will descend upon Memorial University, January 30-February 1, 2009 for a conference jointly organized by the Sustainable Campuses project of the Sierra Youth Coalition and Project Green, the student-led environmental group at Memorial University!
There will be trainings and presentations aimed at empowering students with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in institutionalizing sustainability on their respective campuses. Some workshop topics include: water privatization, lobbying, media, campus sustainability assessments, composting, regional strategizing, and a whole lot more!
Registration ends January 28th!
- $30 for SYC members
- $50 for non-SYC members
(includes food for the weekend, conference package, and FUN!)

A wee bit more information:
The keynote address will be given by Elizabeth Weir, former leader of the New Democratic Party in New Brunswick, and the current President and CEO of Efficiency New Brunswick!
Special guest, Professor Bill Rees, will be speaking on the Friday afternoon of the conference! Bill Rees is best known as the originator of 'ecological footprint analysis.'
