2009 will be an exciting, promising, complex and overwhelming year. It will be full of challenges and expectations for the world's decision makers. Some of the highlights this year include: the G20, G7, WTO, and African Union Summits; the Middle East; the European gas ordeal; the UNFCCC in Copenhagen.
The BSIS Conference organized by students for students will be an opportunity to discuss ideas surrounding these issues with peers from all over Europe.
Through panel discussions, debates, speakers and a simulation exercise we will strive to answer the following questions:
If you were a world leader, what would you bring to the negotiation table?
Will the financial crisis distract from the social, humanitarian and environmental goals?
How can local initiatives influence global agreements?
What does climate change mean for the MDGs, security, business,human rights, etc.?
What will our future look like? |
