Letter of Invitation,
The African Youth and Governance Conference, Accra 2009 is scheduled for the 12-14 August at the Accra International Conference Center (AICC). The event will also commemorate and observe this year’s United Nations “International Youth Day”.
The 3-day event is being organized to engage the youth in Africa in development dialogue with other stakeholders on governance in African countries and the continent as a whole. It will also have highlights on the ratification of the African Youth Charter and the Africa Union’s declaration of Decade of Youth Development in Africa.
The conference will among other discussions the African youth and governance in three broad contexts;
• Policy
• Participation and Empowerment
• Mobilization in Africa.
The conference will provide several opportunities including networking, capacity building and information sharing for participating organizations and individuals who may attend as either delegates or observers.
Receipt of this letter does not guarantee confirmation for participation.
We encourage all youth focused organizations and networks, youth workers, individuals and development partners to patronize this conference to join in the discussion and push an agenda for the development of the African youth.
