DetailsAbout
The Youth Advocates for the United Nations (formerly UNYAP), a proud member of the Global Youth Action Network (GYAN), in partnership with UNICY, UNFPA-YAP, and GK1MB Silliman University, is organizing the 3rd National MDG Summit on May 20-24 with the theme “YOU-th: L.E.A.D.S. the MDG commitment”. The LEADS principle stands for Leadership, Empowerment, Advocacy, Dedication, and Sustainability of the millennium development goals.

This invitation calls for college or high school students, young professionals and UN MDG advocates who are active members of service oriented organizations. The said activity aims to develop the skills of servant-leaders to become better models of the youth. Our plenary sessions would focus on youth concepts of good governance (1) on poverty alleviation, (2) on improving adolescent reproductive health, (3) on HIV and AIDS prevention and control, and (4) on Environmental Sustainability.

The five-day Summit will include the (1) National MDG Oration Competition, (2) Amazing Race, (3) Community Immersion, (4) Model MDG Youth Presentations, (5) YAUN Constitutional Assembly, and other fun-filled social activities. It is preferable that they are accompanied by an adviser who can later assist them in implementing the United Nations Millennium Development Goal’s (MDG’s) action plans.
